The Missions/Outreach Committee offers wide-ranging opportunities for the people of Elma United Methodist Church to live our mission to be "a loving church serving a loving God" throughout the year here at home, nationally, and internationally. The use of time, talents, gifts and service is spent in meeting the needs of all ages through support of many not-for-profit organizations, including F.I.S.H. of East Aurora, Habitat for Humanity, the Erie County Home, Aurora Adult Day Services, Meals on Wheels, Compass House, Shalom Zone, Seneca Street UMC, Relay for Life, Friends of the Night People, Heifer International and many others. The committee is able to respond generously to disasters world-wide through the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
Casserole Commission
One of the many mission programs, Casserole Commission is designed to provide a nutritous meal to those that are temporarily unable to do so themselves, such as families experiencing a loss, medical treatments, a new baby or moving to a new home. The freezer remains stocked with reheatable, delicious and nutritous meals ready for the taking. Many times those living alone or the eldery find it harder to prepare meals for themselves. Casserole Commission welcomes those in any situtation to help themselves. Suggested donation for those "shopping" in the church freezer is $2.50 per meal.
Elma United Methodist Women
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience the freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministires of the church.

Knit & Crochet
Each Tuesday morning at 10:30 am those with the gift of stitches gather at the church to create beautiful prayer shawls, lap robes, baby shawls, and helmet liners for servicemen and women. The women enjoy the company of others while sharing patterns and ideas. They have donated over 265 lap robes and prayer shawls to shutins in the community and residents of Haven House and Roswell.
Those with experience as well as those just wishing to learn are welcome to come and participate.
